Focus and Scope

Fórum Interdisciplinar Journal (Revista Fórum Interdisciplinar), ISSN 3086-464X, is a quarterly publication with double-blind peer review. The journal aims to publish original articles, essays, experience reports, and reviews on research from various fields of knowledge.

The journal accepts texts on a continuous basis. Volumes are published ahead of print quarterly.

Texts may be written in Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, or Libras (video recording or SignWriting), according to the rules of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT), and will be evaluated blindly – ​​double-blind peer review.

Sections

Articles

This section accepts original articles covering different areas of knowledge. It receives articles on a continuous basis, and publication, after approval, will be ahead of print. The journal accepts original articles from all areas of knowledge.

Essays

This section publishes essays that address more theoretical, philosophical, artistic, and literary discussions. Essays can be submitted on a continuous basis, and publication, after approval, will be ahead of print.

Experience Reports

This section accepts original experience reports that present results of practical applications of scientific methods and strategies in diverse contexts. It publishes texts from different areas of knowledge. It receives texts on a continuous basis, and publication, after approval, will be ahead of print.

Book Reviews

The Book Reviews section will publish reviews of books published in Brazil in the last 2 years, or of books published abroad in the last 3 years.

Ethics and Good Editorial Practices

Fórum Interdisciplinar Journal adopts as a reference the recommendations of “Good Editorial Practices in Journals” from Ibict (https://manuelzao.ibict.br/boas-praticas-editoriais-em-revistas/), which provides guidance on the responsible management of the journal, the prevention of misconduct, and the improvement of editorial workflows. These documents guide the editorial decisions and reinforce the commitment to quality, responsibility, and transparency in the management of the journal.

Declaration of Use of AI in the Preparation or Review of Texts

Authors must indicate whether they used Artificial Intelligence in the preparation or review of texts at the time of submission. In the submission form, they must indicate whether they used it to translate abstracts, review the text, or even write sections of the submitted text. The recommendations of CNPq Ordinance No. 2,664, of March 6, 2026, must be observed.

Continuous Publication Policy

Fórum Interdisciplinar Journal adopts a policy of “Continuous Publication in Scientific Journals: an invitation to editorial reflection”, published by  Ibict (https://www.gov.br/ibict/pt-br/central-de-conteudos/noticias/2025/maio/ibict-lanca-cartilha-publicacao-continua-em-periodicos-cientificos-convite-a-reflexao-editorial). This practice helps improve editorial management, accelerating the dissemination of scientific results and promoting the constant modernization of the journal. Furthermore, the transition to continuous publication meets the researchers' desire for greater reach, visibility, and speed in the circulation of intellectual production.

Privacy Policy

The names and addresses provided in this journal will be used exclusively for the services provided by this publication and will not be made available for other purposes or to third parties.

Peer Review Process

Articles and reviews will be submitted to the evaluation of two members of the Editorial Board or ad hoc reviewers, according to a "double-blind" review process. The authors will not be identified in the articles submitted for evaluation, nor will the authors have access to the identity of the reviewers. In case of disagreement between the two reviewers, a third reviewer will evaluate the article. Reviewers will be selected based on their area of ​​expertise, academic production, or knowledge related to the article's theme. If necessary, at the end of the second phase, the Editorial Committee may decide that the article be submitted to a second round of evaluation, which will be carried out by two other reviewers. In the third phase, after the article's approval, the Editorial Committee will evaluate the textual and writing structure and compliance with ABNT standards, and may suggest to the author the necessary editorial and structural adjustments for publication.

Periodicity

Fórum Interdisciplinar Journal is a quarterly publication in ahead-of-print mode and receives texts on a continuous basis.

About Qualis 

In 2025, CAPES adopted evaluation criteria per article and no longer per journal. CAPES will use three procedures to classify articles in its evaluation of journals:

First - classification will be carried out following the journals' bibliometric indicators, analyzing the journal's performance in terms of the number of citations, as is currently done by Qualis Periódicos, but the classification will focus on articles.

Second - bibliometric indicators will be extracted directly from the article, through, for example, the citation index achieved, in order to perform quantitative analysis, as well as using indexing and open access criteria, among others, to assess qualitative aspects.

Third - the qualitative analysis of articles will be based on the factors and methodologies defined by the CAPES evaluation area for the article. For example, the relevance of the topic addressed, the conceptual contribution of the article, and the scientific advances presented by the research reported in the article will be analyzed.

In this sense, Fórum Interdisciplinar Journal is aligned with the new methodology for evaluating articles and, therefore, prioritizes the quality of its texts, as well as investing in a platform for indexing the journal.

Open Access Policy

This journal offers immediate open access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater global democratization of knowledge.

Publication Fee

The publication fee covers the editing stages, such as editorial review, manuscript preparation, layout and typesetting, metadata registration, and online publication of the text in digital format.
