Focus and Scope
Fórum Interdisciplinar Journal, ISSN 3086-464X, is a quarterly publication with double-blind peer review. The journal aims to publish original articles, essays, experience reports, and reviews on research from various fields of knowledge.
The journal accepts texts on a continuous basis. Volumes are published ahead of print quarterly.
Texts may be written in Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, or Libras (video recording or SignWriting), according to the rules of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT), and will be evaluated blindly – double-blind peer review.
Sections
Articles
This section accepts original articles covering different areas of knowledge. It receives articles on a continuous basis, and publication, after approval, will be ahead of print. The journal accepts original articles from all areas of knowledge.
Essays
This section publishes essays that address more theoretical, philosophical, artistic, and literary discussions. Essays can be submitted on a continuous basis, and publication, after approval, will be ahead of print.
Experience Reports
This section accepts original experience reports that present results of practical applications of scientific methods and strategies in diverse contexts. It publishes texts from different areas of knowledge. It receives texts on a continuous basis, and publication, after approval, will be ahead of print.
Book Reviews
The Book Reviews section will publish reviews of books published in Brazil in the last 2 years, or of books published abroad in the last 3 years.
Guidelines for Authors
Attention:
1. Texts must be submitted through Fórum Interdisciplinar Journal's form, following the article template:
2. Works must be original and may be written in Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, or Libras (video recording or SignWriting).
3. Articles, essays, and experience reports should have a minimum of 10 pages and a maximum of 30 pages. Essays may have a more flexible structure regarding internal divisions. References, appendices, and annexes will not be included in the minimum and maximum page counts.
4. Book reviews should have a minimum of 3 pages and a maximum of 10 pages. Reviews of books published in Brazil in the last 2 years and abroad in the last 3 years will be accepted.
5. Texts must have the following characteristics: they must be written in Garamond font, size 12; A4 paper; 1.5 line spacing; 2.5 cm top and bottom margins and 3.0 cm right and left margins; 1.25 cm paragraph indentation.
6. The first page of the text must contain the title of the work in Portuguese or in a foreign language, with only the initial letters capitalized, centered, in bold. One line below the title, the title in English should be inserted, centered, with only the initial letters capitalized. Titles should be in Garamond font, size 12, with 1.5 cm line spacing. If the article is in a foreign language, the title, abstract, and keywords in Portuguese must also be included.
7. Manuscripts should not contain author identification, as the journal adopts blind peer review. Author(s) information should be included in the metadata at the time of submission. It should contain information such as: email, academic degree, institution where the degree was obtained and to which the author is affiliated, as well as other information that the author deems important.
8. Papers must contain an Abstract, with a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 250 words, single line spacing, Garamond font, size 11, without indentation, in a single paragraph, which should appear two lines after the author's identification. Immediately after the summary, keywords (minimum of three and maximum of five) should be listed, separated by semicolons. One line after the keywords should be the Abstract followed by Keywords (minimum of three and maximum of five).
9. For bibliographic citations in the text, use the following system: (Author, date, page), or when the author has already been cited, only (date, page). The titles of the cited works should be in italics. Example: (Machado, 1981, p. 12) or, Machado (1981, p. 12).
10. Section titles should be numbered with Arabic numerals, without numbering the introduction, conclusion, and references. All section titles, including introduction, conclusion, and references, should be left-aligned and in bold. Do not insert paragraphs or spaces after subtitles.
11. Quotations of up to three lines should appear in the body of the text, in double quotation marks, in the same font as the body of the text. Quotations of more than three lines should be in block format, single-spaced, Garamond font, size 10, indented 3 cm from the left margin of the text.
12. Footnotes should appear at the bottom of the page, in Garamond font, size 10, single-spaced, and without indentation. Foreign language quotations in the body of the text should be translated in the footnotes.
13. Tables, images, and graphs should be centered, with a numbered caption using Arabic numerals. Captions should include the source of the images, even if it is the author's own source. Tables should be in Garamond font, size 10.
14. Appendices and annexes should appear after the references, in Garamond font, size 10, single spacing.
15. Authors should indicate whether they used Artificial Intelligence in the preparation or revision of the texts at the time of submission and at the end of the text. In the submission form, they should indicate if they used it to translate abstracts, revise the text, or write sections of the submitted text.
16. References should appear at the end of the text, in alphabetical order, and must comply with ABNT standards.
Book: LAST NAME, First Name of the Author (only initials capitalized). Title of the work in italics. Translation. Edition. Place of publication: publisher, year of publication.
In case of more than one author, use a semicolon between the authors' names. If the article cites two works by the same author, published in the same year, differentiation should be made by inserting sequential letters after the date (1991a, 1991b, 1991c, etc.), both in the text and in the references.

Book Chapter: LAST NAME, First Name of the Author (only initials capitalized). Chapter title. Followed by the preposition In: LAST NAME, First Name of the Author (only initials). (Org.), if necessary. Title of the work in italics. Translation. Edition. Place of publication: publisher, year of publication.
In case of more than one author, use a semicolon between the authors' names.
Ex.: RESENDE, A. M. Paradigmas do ato tradutório. In: CARVALHAL, T. F.; REBELLO, L. S. and FERREIRA, E. F. C. (Orgs.) Transcriações: teoria e práticas. Porto Alegre: Editora Evangraf, 2004.
Journals: LAST NAME, First Name of the Author (only the initials in uppercase). Title of the Article. Name of the Journal in italics. Volume (Vol.), Number (N.), page numbers, publication date.
In case of more than one author, use a semicolon between the authors' names.
Ex.: PETERSON, J. M.; SILVA, A. The Subject in Motion: Post-Modern, Migrant, and Transnational. Letras de Hoje. Vol. 59, No. 2, pp. 179-184, Apr.-Jun. 2015.

The publication fee covers the editing stages, such as editorial review, manuscript preparation, layout and typesetting, metadata registration, and online publication of the text in digital format.
